A network of coffee, a coffee producer family

In the midst of a reality filled with major challenges such as growers’ economic sustainability, farming levels, price volatility on international markets, the increasing demand for more than 50 million bags over the next 10 to 15 years and climate adversity, the 2019 Edition of the World Forum Coffee Producers will bring coffee-growing nations together for discussions relating to common interest issues, such as the revenue of coffee growers, environmental issues, climate and sustainability.
All this so that more than 25 million families who grow beans and create the drink that satisfies the most diverse tastes around the world can keep growth and quality scaling.

Questions:
Physical market- is it possible to disarm the trap created for commodities?
Do current market mechanisms protect or harm the income of producers?
Currency future contracts, especially "C" contracts, are they the right mechanism for price discovery?
Do they reflect the real market or are they distorted by other factors besides coffee? If not the “C” contract, what would be the other alternative?

What is the sector´s responsibility regarding traceability and transparency of prices?
Will transparency and traceability lead to a better economic sustainability for farmers?

Questions:
How did Brazil increase domestic consumption?
How to replicate the Brazil success case in other producer countries?

There will be coffee tastings from all producing countries throughout the event.
All conferences and panels will be simultaneously translated into Spanish, English, French and Portuguese.
DAY 2
THURSDAY JULY 11TH

Room 1: The market as an instrument to protect producers' incomes.
Room 2: Coffee price formulation: Transparency from seed to cup.
Room 3: Promote and increase consumption - Brazil as a benchmark to other.
Room 4: Analysis of the report presented by Jeffrey D. Sachs.

Methodology: Each room / group will have a professional moderator and a guest to
conduct the workshops, which will aim to understand,
create and suggest solutions for each subject addressed.
Each group will create a shared diagnosis of the main challenges faced on the supply
chain and make recommendations for collective future solutions.
At the end of the session, moderators will organize the general conclusions and
recommendations to be approved by each group and presented later in the plenary session.
11h15 to 11h45 Coffee Break - Visits to booths
11h45 to 12h45 Workshops Conclusion / Preparation of the presentations’ results
13h00 to 14h30 Lunch - Visits to booths
14h30 to 16h00 Conclusions Presentations
Each group will have 15 minutes to present its theme, challenges and suggestion to all other participants

There will be coffee tastings from all producing countries throughout the event.
